Our Pastors

The Bible teaches us that the office of Elder/Pastor/Overseer is the same office with different names. The qualifications for elders are clearly stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. It is understood that there should be a plurality of elders and that there is to be no hierarchy amongst the elders. The elder's primary calling is to preach the Word, pray, and shepherd the flock of God that has been given to them by God. As a congregational church led by the elders, the pastors are ordained by the church members, held accountable by the church to our confession of faith, and lead by the authority given and defined by God. The pastors of CGC have the same vote as other members in our members' meetings. The office of elder is a noble office, and it's an honor to shepherd the flock of God as our Good Shepherd has shepherded us!
